Do you want to help shape the future of social services with us in Karlshamn?
In the Municipality of Karlshamn, we are investing in creating an efficient and client-friendly social services department based on accessibility, treatment, and competence. Together within the unit and our outpatient care, we work according to the "Signs of Safety" approach. Our guiding star is our vision:
"We gather around the child and believe in the family's strength and participation. With competence and heart, we meet you with respect and commitment."
We are now looking for a Family Home Secretary (Social Worker specializing in foster care).
About the job:
Do you have a burning interest in social work and want to develop our operations together with us? Then you might be the person we are looking for! At the Child and Family Unit, we work in teams; we collaborate with each other, but also with other units both internally and externally.
Responsibilities as a Family Home Secretary:
In your role as a Family Home Secretary, you will work together with the social worker responsible for the child/young person to match each foster home to the child's/young person's unique needs. You play a crucial role as a Family Home Secretary by ensuring that all children and young people in our care receive the safety and support they are entitled to. You recruit, investigate, and supervise foster homes, emergency homes, contact families, and contact persons in their assignments. You provide them with the support and guidance they need to succeed in their important mission.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work (Social Work) or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position.
- Good ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish.
- Category B driver's license.
Merits:
- Previous experience in foster care.
- Completed the course "A Lasting Relationship".
- Experience working with Signs of Safety.
- Experience documenting in Lifecare.
Personal qualities:
We are looking for someone who has the ability to create trusting and supportive relationships, both with the foster families and your colleagues. Someone who has an unpretentious and solution-oriented attitude, with good collaboration skills and the ability to handle different perspectives and needs. You need to have good organizational skills and structure, with the ability to drive and follow up activities independently and plan your work. Since you work with various contacts, there is a need for a desire to be a good ambassador for the operations.
In your role, you will meet children, young people, and families in crisis, and therefore you need to be able to remain calm and professional even in stressful and challenging situations.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
About the workplace:
The unit consists of three target group-oriented teams. Each team is led by a Senior Social Worker who provides support in professional practice, and the unit also includes an SSPF Coordinator, a Specialist Social Worker, and a Placement Coordinator as expert resources. We strive for close collaboration with all units within the administration and work together for a social services department where it should be easy to come to us and get help. We continuously work on method development and competence-enhancing measures, and currently, there is active work underway to implement the "Signs of Safety" approach.
At our workplace, employees are given the opportunity to develop areas of responsibility, as we believe that participation and responsibility lead to the joint development of our unit, and we see that you have an important role in this work.
You will be surrounded by competent and engaged employees in an operation where no day is like the other, but job satisfaction is high. You are offered competence-enhancing training, external supervision, staff club, and flexible working hours.
